Research
An amazing research tool that is free or paid. It allows you to gain insight into what people are searching for. Use for blog post ideas, SEO and general market research.
A free tool to check out the competition’s SEO and look at your own. Really great for analysing searches and to then improve your own content.
Social Media
Despite what most designers say, “use your brand package and don’t use Canva!” I say, if you need a quick design for something, Canva can be a great tool, especially now you can bulk create using ai. However, use with caution and be aware of what you have the right to use and where. I would also say if you don’t have social media templates, then you must use Canva with your brand guide in mind, e.g. fonts, colours, logos, tone of voice and illustrations etc.
If you aren’t already using social media scheduling, then you’re missing out. Previously my free pick had been Later however, Tailwind currently has more posts per month on their free service.
Unsplash is an amazing resource, you can get royalty-free stock photos for free which don’t require attribution.
Like Unsplash but more candid photos from people. You can also find amazing videos too. Again all for free without attribution necessary.
Productivity
If you’ve read any of the blog posts here on Joy and Key then you’ll know that we love getting a helping hand from ai. Jasper is an Ai content platform that can help you be more productive. It can help you create content 10x faster while creating original content. Check out their writing features on boss mode, it’s almost unbelievable.
I could wax lyrical about Notion but I’ve already done that on the blog. If you want to up your productivity with a second brain, create a communication hub for clients notion is what you make it. Try it out both free and paid is available.
Wistia is a video marketing platform. Ideal for course creation and more. They offer a free plan which is great if you’re just starting out with video marketing. Their paid plans will help you level up.
Clockify – Time tracking system
Does what it says on the tin. Free for basic use that’s a check from me. Available on both desktop and mobile, it syncs between the two. Also the timer is visible on my desktop, which means I don’t forget to turn it on and off.
